By way of comparison, sales of the Mercedes-Benz E Class were down 9.5% with sales of 4,112 units this month and 4,544 units last September. YTD sales of the MB E Class were down 26.3% for the first 9 months of 2006.

Maybe it is the crappy economy and high fuel prices???

Diesels will have fix part of that problem...getting rid of your George W. might help the other...

I dont think its either. Gas prices here in the states are higher than a couple of years ago, but still much lower than europe..etc..As for the economy, the past week the dow has been hitting record highs. I didnt look at Lexus sales or Mercedes...if they are up, than BMW has something to worry about with all these software problems. People dont care that its only software causing problems, its the same as if major mechanical components were going bad.... we all just want quality from our beamers the way it used to be

Yeah, good old Democratic higher taxes and brutal over-regulation...that'll fix everything!

Diesel would certainly boost sales somewhat, but for whatever reason every one I sepak to here hates Diesels and would never buy one....
It definitely can't be the gas prices, to families in our neighborhood just bought Dummer H3s.

Most people have never driven one of the new generation diesels. They'll change their opinions in a hurry.
