Separate map views in split view?
Is it possible to have a perspective view on the left and a pointing-north view on the right, while both maps are zoomed in at a different level? I have the pre-F10 CCC iDrive, like most of us do I believe (new CIC was included from E60s built from 08/2008, or so).
This could be very convenient, but I can't find a way how to do it.

just open navigaton as usual and when the navigation screen comes up just simply move ur idrive to the right, it will highlight the box on the right of the screen then press it down and u will get all sorts of options to display on the right side box in the screen...

No, as far as I know, you CANNOT have two different map views simultaneously. Switching the map in the assist window(smaller window) automatically switches the map view in the main window.

Oh well.
Thanks.
If someone's interested here's a DIY to retrofit CIC:
