It's a law in California. No smoking in the car with kids.

I stand corrected. Damn a $100 fine! Soon it will cost $$ to breath air.

Talk about getting off topic. The man asks for advice about a seatbelt citation he received and we go off on some rant about the government. Dude just go to court! Not sure how your going to beat it outside of the officer not appearing. GL

Well, you can legislate common sense... but you shouldn't HAVE to! Nutty driving an e60 around anywhere without the seat belt, in my judgment. Good luck with your ticket, hope the $120 helps you think about whether you should be buckled up anyway.

id like to end this thread by saying im sure everyone has good intentions when driving and i can see that we all have different views when it comes to this topic. lets agree to disagree and concern ourselves with more important things like sprintboosters, CF mods and 19" wheels...thanx everyone and be careful out there seems like we got a few crazies on the road...

I'll go with that. Just make sure you wear your seatbelt if you happen to drive through MD.

If you pull me over, you're jumping in my car, and we're going to do 180mph to the nearest crab shack. LOL!

Funny you should mention that a friend of mine has a ferrari and we took it on a spin out on I-95. Needless to say he'll never let me drive it again. I'm routinely at 100+ MPH, unfortunately I'm in a Ford most of the time.

I ask again, where is the individual responsibility and accountability?
Paying the fine instead of trying to get out of it would be responsibility and accountability.
Like me......getting a fine of $130 for running a stop sign, and taking the "responsibility" of paying the fine for the moving violation. I ran it, got caught...no way around it. I paid the fine and moved foward.....lesson learned
