I have a 2006 530xi and noticed a tear on the rear of the drivers seat. The leather is charcoal, but the back of the seat appears black vinyl or leaherette. Can anyone offer a suggestion to fix?

I noticed creams online that "harden" and fix tears (leathermagic.com). Legitimate product?

I had a tear a couple years ago on one of my seats....a local auto upholstery shop replaced the bad "panel" and there was absolutely no way to tell it was done...they matched it perfectly. I think they charged me around $75. My suggestion is to drop by an upholstery shop for a quote... they do this type of stuff all the time.

+1. Let the pros do it if you want it perfect...it shouldn't be too expensive. Otherwise, experiment with the liquid vinyl stuff.
