Hi All - I removed my passenger side front seat to clean underneath it (I won't tell you why - it's disgusting). And I now have a Passenger-Restraint Error. I did it with the key off but did not disconnect the battery (this TIS did not say to do this). What's weird is that when I first moved the car after I did it, there was no error. But the next morning when I started the car, it came up immediately. I checked the connections under the seat and everything is in tact.

Any idea on how to reset it without going to the dealer? Will disconnecting the battery help?

you have to get it reset im afraid, as the pre tensioners are part of the air bag system.
should have disconnected the battery.

I think that may be a recall. As I mentioned on another post, I took my 06 in for maintenance and brakes. My SA mentioned that they had to take the cover off the passenger seat to check for a product number to see if my car was involved. I didn't need the fix since it was out of range. Just a thought

Any garage shop with DIS s/w should can help to reset.
Disconnecting the battery no need, cos that error code stored in memory and need to erase by s/w.

yup bring it to a shop, the pre-tensioner will not work now and it's dangerous.
not all shop has the latest scan tool that can clear it. i went to one and their scan software is not the most up to date. luckily my friend has a tool and did it for me for free.

some shops will do it for free as a courtesy, at most they will charge you half hour of labor. the nearby dinan said they will charge half hour of labor ($70), another place tried to reset it (for free) but the error didn't go away. long story short i wiggle the connection and later my friend helped me clear the code.

Yup I had that light on too. It's passenger restraint malfunction right? If so contact your dealer. It's under a recall of seat occupancy sensor. I just got mine done
