Seat bottom squeaking and creaking - any way to oil it?
My car has about 26,000 miles on it, so some age - but now when I sit down or accelerate or stop the drivers seat bottom cushion makes loud squeaks - like an old recliner. Is there any way to get at the frame to oil it?
Need more info - is it a 'metallic' squeak or one that is more plastic sounding? It may be that the leather (or vinyl if you don't have the Premium pkg) is dry and needs to be treated. And are you sure it's coming from the seat - sounds can travel strange routes and often aren't where they seem to originate. You may be hearing the dreaded door-frame rub?

Checkthe attachment points to be sure the frame is securely tightened to the floor; there are also several frame sections supporting the seat pads and foam. One or more of them may have broken and be impossible to see without removing the seat covering and foam. Probably best done by removing the seat from the car.

I have this too! I can do a seat position adjustment back and forth, up and down and then return to the same position and for a while the seat will stop creaking. Alas, with time, it returns. I think if I take to my dealer they will throw me out = my car has had it's share of problems, the least of which is this.
