On the subject of the seat belt. Has anyone experienced difficult in pulling the seat belt while trying to put it on? The belt seems to lock up even when I'm pulling it gently. It only happens now and again.

I had a few experiences like that with the E39, but none with the E60 yet. Usually giving some slack unlocked it.
