I just played a patient game with my E60 to see who has more patience. Finally I did. I was driving without seatbelt in a private are and started counting number of bell chime. It turned itself off after 30seconds or about 37 bell chime. It's quite interesting.
By the way, I just had SW updated last week to enable AUX.

Interesting - mine stays on way past the point of wanting to take a hammer to the dashboard :'(

I had a sticky sensor in the passenger seat (after a rather large gentleman sat in it!) and it drove me nuts ! I had to resort to plugging in the seatbelt on the empty seat.

I tried the same way as you too but the bell chime will start again once your car start moving.

Chime goes off only for some 30 sec or so and then it's back again. But only if car is still moving.

The simplest solution to the seat belt chime is to wear your seat belt.

My point was it'd turn it self off
I always wear my seat belt for any drive > 100m to avoid the bell chime. I, too, have a habit of wearing seat belt which helps me stay in place while cornering.

Yep. I don't just buckle up, I even pull the seatbelt after I buckled up to make sure it is as tight as possible.
