it is. on that same tag there should be a number.....668.....maybe 668/9 that is the numerical paint code.

If Schwarz means black and the OP drives a black car, I would have to say that yes, it is the paint code for black..

I originally was referring to the post that said schwarz is the German word for black. This is obviously true. However the OP's question was wehether or not Schwarz 2 is an official BMW color designation. Try telling the paint guy you need some black touch up paint and wait until he asks, Which one?" Deductive reasoning is a great form of logic, but a confirmed number code is better IMHO.
