Are the sensors different from regular TPMS on later model year E60's? How are they reset? I am gonig to be buying a summer wheel/tire setup soon. this is on an 05 545i

widely discussed topic .... FTM uses ABS etc with no in-wheel sensor. Measures tire rotation and detects differences that infer a tire flattening. TPMS used transponder in wheel to detect tire pressure. The '05 uses FTM .... TPMS came in late '06 or so.

BTW, I don't know if you realize that you can download an owner's manual for the '05 from the information section of this forum. Many of your questions about that year and model can be answered there.
