Unhappy

So i was cruising down rt 110, to get home, and my car just dies while im driving and comes back on right away. I mean it went completely off, lost all control but im sure i could steer the car. This all happened withing 2 secs. It died and came back on, ofcorse with all sorts of errors like dynamic drive and active steering fault. Anyone experience something like this before? i think maybe something shorted out or something. Im a little worried, what if i was taking a turn or changing lanes and car dies on me, id be screwed.

I had a similar thing happen about 15 years ago in a Honda Accord. It happened once on a highway, everything in the car shut off, but came back on moments later. Since nothing happened, and the power and engine came on again, and I drove on. It happened again a few days later, but again after a few moments the power came right back.

I took it to the dealer and they replaced a few things (headlamp stalk, fuses, etc) at great expense to me - and wouldn't you know the next day it happened a third time. This time I almost got killed.

I had it towed back to the dealer madder than hell and I wanted answers. I actually got in a jam with the service manager because I accused them of ripping me off and not fixing the real problem. Well - this time they found it - one of the main wiring harnesses coming through the firewall was grounding out.

At the time the Honda was about 3 years old and well maintained. I bought it new.

whoah, glad you didn't get into an accident. You should take your vehicle to the dealership to get it checked out.

Good luck

Bro, immediately check your battery compartment in the trunk and look if the battery is sitting in water. This is a KNOWN issue that could have caused this.

Oh geezus... this is a known issue on 550 only? Or all models in 2006?
