You've had your car for a couple years (my car is a 2004)?

If so, where is the best place to buy the radio receiver, and how much?

I think it is only if you get it already installed with the car when delivered. i.e. BMW has a deal with Sirius for the first year free.

Don't know the answer, but ask Sirius for the free year when you activate. I took delivery of my car in Feb 2004 and didn't get the Sirius installed and activated until Feb 2005. When the woman from Sirius asked what plan I wanted I simply said I thought that BMW buyers got the first year free. She put me hold for a few minutes, came back and said I was all set. First year free! All they can do is say the program has ended, but it's definitely worth asking for...

The 1 year free comes with the purchase of the sattelite receiver, not your car. So if you purchase it 2 years after you buy your car, thats OK, the part you're buying comes with the free 1yr service. Just call and give Sirius your ESN and you'll be fine.

Called Sirius today and mentioned the one year free subscription. GOT IT. To bad, the reception was not that great. Sounded like liking to AM. Maybe it will sound better in the city.
