Sat/Nav Combo for 2004

I have a 545 which I received in Feb. I have Nav and Sat prep, and have been anxiously awaiting the promised SW update so I can install Sat (was supposed to be Oct). I have an email from BMWNA which says it will definitely be available, and is just a question of when.
Since I haven't heard anything in a while, I called BMWNA yesterday to ask what the status was and was told that they are now not sure if it will ever be available (they are 'investigating' the possibility), and that they don't even know when they'll know. This did not leave me feeling warm and fuzzy since I really want to install satellite radio.
I also stopped by my local dealership yesterday to ask the same question. Not surprisingly, they didn't have a clue, but did say that you still can't order Sat/Nav combo even for 2005 models. Ugh.
Has anyone heard anything different?
On a somewhat unrelated note, I also asked about the ability to retrofit bluetooth. According to the BMWNA rep, she says it will definitely not be possible. Who knows.
