Black Sapphire is still hard to clean as hell...You're not going to see a significant difference in elbow grease time and it gets dirty VERY quickly just like any other black finish... I washed mine 1 week ago and it looks like it hasn't been washed for about 1 month.

Saphire black is a great color when it is clean. There is no doubt that it and carbon black are the two hardest to keep clean.
Both show swirl marks so regular detailing will be a must.

It was even worse than Metallic Black colors on my E46's 320Ci and 325Ci to keep clean and nice.
But a black car looks very nice and hot when it's clean
If someone is afraid of swirls and scratches, the Titanium Silver is the answer (White don't show any scatches either).
A TS needs only to be washed for the Midsummer (or 7/4) and Christmas.

My 330i was Jet Black. I decided to go with Titanium Gray on my 530i. It was a tough decision, I went back and forth daily between Ti Gray and Black Sapphire. After owning the Ti Gray for 5 months now, I can say it rarely looks "bad" or dirty. However, that advantage is also a disadvantage because when I wash it, it doesn't look all that much better. The wheels are the one area that washing really improves (eg. getting rid of all the brake dust) and really makes a difference.
I will probably go back to Black on my next BMW. When you wash and dry a Black car, it really makes a difference, and damn it looks SO good.

My car is Black Sapphire Metallic and it does not show any swirl marks. I always wash it by hand and I use Zymol wax. The Zymol wax is applied in straight-line motions, not in circular motions.
Nonetheless black sapphire is a commitment from a cleaning standpoint...gotta love it though !
