I started up my car this morning, and notice "ALOT" of white smoke coming out of the exhaust tips, ALOT!!!. I thought it was probally just some water that got into it. So I started to drive, iv notice the white smoke doesnt seem to be stopping. I pulled over and checked all my fluids, everything seems fine. turned the car back on and MORE white smoked came out. Took my car straight to a mechanic and he told me it was my "Pressure Regulator Valve " or something like that underneath the intake manifold.

Has anyone ever experience this before?

The car is a 525I 2004, with about 71k Miles

That sucks, hopefully it does not cost too much!

got car back last night..squeaking was cured by greasing the ball joints and they pressure tested the engine but found nothing they have though reprogrammed it as they think the smoke was the unnecessary purging of the particulete filter...and so far its ok....fingers crossed

Ok so not fixed after al..!!
car emptied all the water through the exhaust twice yesterday I rang the garage in Derby who told me the same old line again and seemed like they could not care less...as I was in Shrewsbury I called in at the dealers there who saw me straight away and tested everything and fixed it (fingers crossed) overnight It was the heat exchanger and they were amazed it had not killed the turbo as well.

Not sure I understand what you mean by heat exchanger?

Wow, that's a lot of miles for a 2007 540. I didn't even think they made the 540 anymore.
Over here you could buy a 540i E60 in 2006 and 2007.
I don't think many of them were sold as they were way more expensive than the 530i.
