Rust warranty extension

I received the following letter a couple days ago, anyone else get one? I wonder why they did this all of a sudden...

I believe it has been extended here too for all cars built/bought in 2004. It was on the BMW UK website a few weeks ago. So I think you'll be covered if you bought your E60 in 2004. You should check with your dealer after checking the website.

Unfortunately mine is an 2003 built car and even though I bought it used in 2004 I don't think I have that extension.
Maybe I'll ask my dealer when I'm there next to confirm whether I will have the extension.

Ooo, nice, thanks for the heads up.

I always thougt 6 years was a bit low for an uberwagon like the 5.

I got this information in the mail on Monday. I don't quite understand why BMW would be so gracious and extend the warranty. I'm happy to have it though.

I got the letter and warranty extension as well. My car was built in March 2004.
