Thumbs up

Ok -- newbie E60 question,

I'll predicate this by saying I do not have CA..

How do you keep radio on for extended period when motor is not running? Was out washing the car and the dang radio kept shutting off.

I have the key in the slot, push it in, but after a short period the radio stops (I think the key pops back out a bit too)

Advice much appreciated!!

Anyone?? I had someone on another site tell me if you press the radio button for 3 seconds, it will turn on -- didn't work for me

not so sure it's possible to keep the radio on per BMW design.

These cars are SO hard on batteries that I'm sure it can't be done , I always use a portable radio when I'm washing mine

Rick, you just need to push the start/stop button when the radio stops. Like westcoast550 said, these cars are hard on batteries and the radio timing out is a fail safe to make sure you don't kill the battery by accident.

Next time you wash the car, bring out the boom box you use to carry around on your shoulder in the eighties.

A good SA @ Motorwerks had the answer!! (at least for my 08)

Put the fob in, hit the start button w/out depressing the brake pedal..That puts the car in auxillary w/out starting..

Perfect!!
