Hy people,

I urgently need to replace my RF, I will not talk anymore about how crap they are, by the way, my tyres are now 46.000 (Dunlop) and need to replaced. So basically my question is:

Have anyone experienced good RF after first set? If so, which brand/model?????

Of course changing to not-RF opens the horizont to many different options, but now I would like to understand if there is a chance to find RF without problems.

Thank you very much.

Luca

What size your wheels? Michelin is a good option, but I think Dunlop's are not that bad as you seem to think IMHO.

You're looking for winter or summer tires?

My summer tires are exactly as in my signature, but you'll notice that in the back there's 275/35 instead of 245/40...

Are you driving am X-Drive version?

Forget the RFT tyres.

Go for the NON RFT tyres.

I got Bridgstone Potenza and they are fine, much more comfortable.
I'm going to try the CONTINENTAL SPORTCONTACT2, it's a good tyre.

I'm looking for summer tires, I'm driving a 530d Touring, with steptronic.

I'd like to stay with RFT because its a really useful feature but it's stupid to spend 60.000 euros to have a noisy hard car...

So if there are not good RFT (based on someone xperience!) I'll go for not-RFT...

Forget the RF's!

Go for Michelin Pilot Sport or ContiSportContact2's!

I will get rid of mine Dunlop RF's even if they have 5mm left.

I am for the safety of RF tires. I did not notice the noise, but I never had anything else. Anyway it does not bother me and yes, they are rougher when hiting potholes, but my wheels are protected better.

Get non-RF and a spare wheel kit. You will not regret it.

The new Bridgestone RFs cars are shipped with now don't seem that bad. I'm pushing 6K miles now with no problems. They are quiet but do ride a little hard...I think thats normal for RFs. If you do a search on this topic the general consenses is RFs are not a good choice. As soon as my 20"s are in I am changing to Mich PS2 non-RF but have decided to just keep the OEM wheels and tires for emergency use.
