I noticed that when the engine is warmed up, the RPM is idling between 4 to 500. What I mean is that it constantly swings between 4 to 500, unlike all my other V6 bMW which the RPM does not swing.
Exactly which other BMW model did you have with the V6?

My car has a smooth idle, but it idles at around 750 rpms.

I have a friend working for BMW. I used to have the same issue. I was told to take it to the high speed (over 120mph) drive for a couple of minutes. So I did. Now the problem is gone. It is very strange but the problem is gone for now. My guess is that there was extremely large amount of fuel going through injectors, but I am not sure.

Hmmm... I drove 130mph for about 30 minutes (with help of radar detector)... but instead of fixing it, my fuel sending unit broke. lol...

After I fixed it, I did it again and still did not fix the problem...

SPEED DEMON(wish I had M5 then I GO CRAZIER!!!)
