Picked up a 535i a little over a week ago. When we started the car up this morning it was idling very rough, and then we got a check engine/engine malfuntion warning (engine operating at reduced power). It's going back to the dealer for diagnosis but wanted to see if anyone had similar experiences and if so, what the issue was.

Thanks

had an issue exatly like this about 2 months ago. Was a nightmare getting to the dealer. in the morning warning came on and could not get car past 65mph, felt like i was operating on 4 cylinders. When driving to the dealer the car gradually lost more and more power. By the time I got to the dealer (barely), i could not get the car past 10 mph and was struggling to get over a hill.

The next day at the dealer, car worked fine, they checked the engine and readjusted teh engine valves and have not had an issue since.
