Hi, I'll be embarking on a 1,500 miles round trip to Vegas (from Denver) and wanted your input to see if there's anything I should take care of on my 535xi before the trip.

So far:
52,000 miles
7,000 miles left on oil change
the rest of the services are good for a while

I plan on switching to my stock 17' rims and tires for better road comfort.
Car wash coming soon

I'm a missing anything? Should I bother on getting an oil change?

Last, this'll be my first time in vegas with the wife. What are the absolute most do over there?

We love everything from outdoor to night life activities.

Thanks!

That's a great drive through the best part of the U.S.! I70 in Utah is spectacular and there is hardly any traffic to deal with. I think there is a stretch over 100 miles with no services. So be sure to fill up before that. A V1 would be a good idea, but mine has never fired off there. I15 south of Vegas totally sucks. Most drivers on it are complete idiots and there are frequent, sometimes spectacular, accidents, particularly on weekends. It's completely backwards regarding passing. Almost everyone passes in the right lane due to clowns on cruise control driving too slow in the left lane.

Forgot to add what to do:

Visit all the major casinos, if only to walk through and see the lavish fakeness (is that a word) of them.
Catch a show. Jersey Boys is supposed to be good. Get tickets now, on line.
Many of the restaurants are expensive, but excellent. You will need reservations at most. Check menus on line. Eat well.
To eat cheap and catch a bit of old Vegas, go to Ellis Island (south off the strip) and ask for the filet dinner - it's not on the menu and is cheap. The local watching is spectacular. We saw some really old show girls / hookers there at the bar along with some scraggly old cowboys.
Don't valet park your nice car. Ever.

Also, if you are into engineering, go to Hoover Dam, take the tour, and also check out the new bridge just south of the damn. Walk along the bridge for a great view up river of the dam. It's a bit out of town, but if you have the time, it's worth the drive.

I always take a few gallons of bottled water when I drive through the desert.

Funny, I am driving over to Vegas myself in a couple of weeks. Nothing special to check for other than the usual things you'd do for a short road trip like that.

I've done the trip twice driving. Once in an Audi S4, once in a rental land-yacht. It's a beautiful run.

I wouldn't over-engineer things...just enjoy and make some of the stops recommended here already.

Have fun...
