Hey,

it looks like my OEM 124 rim cracked third time this year... Chicago potholes are merciless.... The shop I fixed my rims before wants $120+mounting and balancing (up from $80) - for that much $ I can buy used rim in decent shape.

Does anyone know a good welding shop which would weld the rim and the price would not be $120 (Chicago land)? I use my 124 just for winter setup, but I will be selling them - It is just not worth the trouble.

+1 I am also looking for one. Need to get a bent rim straightened out. OP, this other shop you mentioned, where is it? I might call them and see if they can give a lower price on a group deal.

it is called carson tire, ashland and grand area. It is not the best looking shop, they do only tires. Don't let anyone else work you you wheels but mexican guy with glasses. He knows what is he doing, other ones - no clue. Anyway, they are fairly cheap but the price depends on the mood of the owner....sometimes it is dirt cheap (first time he fixed my cracked wheel for $100 with mounting and balancing, second one wanted $150...go figure), sometimes makes no sense.

Try Whees America, they have a shop here in Chicagoland. Here is the link http://www.wheelsamerica.com/index.php?page=chicago
