Whoever or wherever you have your new wheels/tires mounted - two words ... "Torque Wrench". If the shop doesn't have or use them RUN AWAY!! If you decide to do it yourself, a decent torque wrench can be had for less than $50.

 

Have you ever changed a tire? If not

Assuming your car has a spare, read the manual on how to change a tire and repeat four times on flat ground.

It's not hard.

Some simple basics:

Loosen the lugs one turn with the wheel touching ground to stop it spinning.

Then Jack the car up until the wheel is free from the ground.

After having many wheels stuck to the hubs, I put a thin layer of grease on the hub before putting the new wheel on. Garages never do this.

When putting the new wheel on tighten the lugs as much as you can BEFORE letting the car down t make sure the wheel seats properly before you put the cars weight on it.

The wheel bolts should tightened in a "star" pattern. A torque wrench is recommended but I have been changing tire for years. My method, tighten the lugs with as much force as was required to remove them. I haven't lost a wheel in 30 years of driving using this method.

 

Usually you should not need alignment after put on new tires/wheels if they came with mounted and balanced. I put on the 172s the same day when I got them. Just like changing 4 flat tires. Which takes 30 minutes in my garage.
