Hi to all!

Is there a fuse that I need to change or is it the motor. When I do a manual adjustment the side to side movement is okay but not the up and down movement. My steering wheel is also acting up, sometimes the up and down is not responding as well. Thanks!

I am far from an expert here but sounds like it's probably a motor issue. Possibly brought on by repeated use by having your knob/shifter thing set so the mirror goes down when in reverse. I saw a couple other complaints about this motor on other boards (maybe here?) before.

This may sound like a dumb suggestion, but this happened to me: On the driver's side door, check the mirror adjustment switch. Make sure it's set to the driver side door (to the left). If it's on the right, the passenger mirror won't move when you put it in reverse.

I was thinking the same but he was saying it won't move when he tries to move it up and down (but works left to right).. which sounds like something is up.

Start the car, put it in reverse and move the mirror selector switch and then wait a couple of seconds, this should make it tilt again!

Mine has been acting up recently too. Works about 1/2 the time.

(I had an e46 for 8 years and never had any problems, but others did.)

You can find more on e46fanatics, or bimmerpost.
