So it's a little cold and mucky up here in Toronto (although a lot worse elsewhere).

I just drove back from Waterloo (a little less than 2 hours away). I parked in the garage, turned off the car and then got out (leaving the keys) to take the garbage down to the curb. A few minutes later I took out the key and locked the door. About 10 minutes later I came out (with more garbage) and noticed that the right rear tail-light was on. Nothing else was on. Only that one light. Hmmmm - sez I.

Being and IT guy, I figured that I should apply the usual fix - I restarted the car and let it run for a minute. Then I turned it off. All the lights went off. I'm assuming I'm ok for now but will keep an eye on it.

So - any idea of what happened? Stuck relay?

Thanks a bunch.

Stay warm.

I think its normal I was installing my blue led side markers today and I forgot I did not have the key in and hit the stalk and ONLY the left tail and head light turned on. I had to restart the car? Maybe you hit the stalk by accident?

Look in your owners manual. That is the "roadside parking" light option.

Roadside parking lamps, left or right*

You also enjoy the option of lighting up just one
side of your vehicle when parking:
Switching on
After parking the vehicle, press the lever up or
down beyond the resistance point, arrow 3.

A feature originally focused only on the Euro market where parking along the side of darkened, narrow roads is common. Causes confusion here but I find it cool, if only occasionally useful.

I went camping last year and left it on overnight probably for at least hours straight and no problem at all.

Thanks folks.

That's why I'm a member - learn something new.

I never would have thought to look in the manual for something like "roadside parking lights". Especially since I've owned the car for over 5 years.

Thanks a bunch.
