My right low beam headlight developed a pink glow, then went totally out. The I-drive monitor states "Right low beam malfunction." Since I dislike the stealers, I am going to tackle this one. In your honest opinions, is it the bulb or the igniter?? Thank you in advance.

Thanks, Specialist...wow that was quick. Any advice or pitfalls to watch out for? And damn, I like that paint job on your baby--that is sweet....

The consensus is to replace both bulbs if one goes out. The reason is that the color will not be the same if they have different hours on them. Plus it's likely your other one has either lost lumens over time and may go out soon anyway.

And that's a factory color for M5.

My e60 with xenons had pink eye too and it wasn't the bulb but the ballast. I would swap bulbs and then swap ballast from the other headlights to make sure before you waste.money buying bulbs or ballast. Switching out both is a really simple task. Used ballast on eBay are fairly priced.

Thanks for that info. Can anyone tell me if the anti-static mat is truly needed to change the bulb and/ or ballast?
