Hey guys,

I am considering a few different wheels (styles 166, 219, 220) and I have a major concern about going up to a 19" wheel. I love the look of the style 166 wheels but worry about ride quality with the increase in size and decrease in tire diameter.

Can anyone who has gone from a 18" sport OEM wheel to a 19" 220M or 166 give their experience? I feel that the ride quality is perfect right now.

Overall tire diameter does not get smaller.

what you are feeling is less side wall flex and the weight of the wheel. With the factory wheels you will not see as much of a weight increase, but you will feel the shorter sidewall.

i went form 124's to 166's...I think the fact that I went from rft's on the 124's to non-rft's on the 166's made the biggest difference in ride comfort improvement rather than the slight increase in diameter.

Geneatals, you said you have seen a ride quality improvement going from 124s to 166s?

I went from 18" to 19" three years ago on my summer setup. The difference could be felt, but it wasn't that big IMHO.

you can always run plus size tires on your 19" and won't feel a thing.

but now it looks good and that's all it matters

thinking of going to 20" down the line myself when I'm bored with my 19". Those new 20" VB3 do look tempting.
