My Ride: E61 525iA Build 2004/08. "Safirschwartz Metallic". Navi Pro, Adaptive Headlights, Bi-Xenon, Panorama Sunroof etc... CIP 18.00.01 (No noticed bug)

Don't you laugh now . I didn't order my car with cupholders (don't ask). Are they possible to retrofit? Is that a big deal? I realize from other posts that they aren't perfect for the task of securely holding a cup , but now when relizing lack of good spots to put a cup they might not be such a bad idea. What kind of creepy cups do fit in these holders?

Didn't realize you could get the car without them. This must be a Euro option.

If you plan on anything heavy, I would give them a pass. They are not that sturdy in my opinion.

If you plan on anything light, i would give them a miss again - It will launch it on to the lap of your passenger!

i don't have cupholders in my car either, but retrofitting was higher than 400 dlls, as you have to replace half of the dash. Too much money for me, maybe next time ill rethink when i say no to some options

I have neither ordered them for esthetical reasons. I personally use, when needed, the cupholders of the rear central armrest because, they are really close from the driver position. With a good and elastic shoulder, you can manage to put your cup inside!

They certainly don't hold wine glasses . I tried and no chance. But then you can't blame BMW as they do put a warning symbol which clearly states no wine glasses.

I do however think they are good for holding cans and medium sized coffee cups.

If you didn't order them then you should cry yourself to sleep every night!
