Hi all, iam an owner of a 2006 520d msport and looking to see if it is possible to change the auto shifter to the newer one that moves at an angle rather than forwards and backwards, the one ive seen is just the normal type ithink heres a photo. All comments appreciated, Chris.

 

Welcome to the forums. The linkage is completely different between the OEM preLCI shifter and the OEM LCI shifter. (Mechanical Vs Electronic). There is however some good news. There is an aftermarket component available that some have installed in their cars. You can find more information here:
