BAD NEWS. If your warranty has expired, you can NOT get extended warranty. Extended warranty can only be purchased with the vehicle under 50,000 miles.

My Ride: 2004 545i - Bone stock... help!

Had this a month ago, replaced main terminal battery cable, fixed. Cost like 200 bucks all in.

Same thing as you, reset would fix - would happen later. Tell tell signs it was the battery cable (so my guy said), he replaced and it's been all good. Would be a good place to start.
