As in my earlier thread, my car is now suffering from a faulty restraint warning (basically air-bags & seat belt restraints).

Has anyone had this & what are the possible causes???

Only had the car 4 weeks & only had her with me for 2 of those, the other 2 she's been stuck at the dealers.

Had CIP 20.02 upgrade 2 weeks ago along with Extended Voice Retro-Fit, but following that the only problem was they had not enabled mp3 playback, although this was the reason they were upgrading the CIP so the car goes back in to have that enabled & other non software problems fixed (faulty rear speaker replaced & rattling rear parcel shelf replaced), but when i went to collect the car, the above error was staring me in the face. The dealer had called to say it happened earlier this morning as well, but a reset had fixed it (obviously not) so it's still at the dealers.

Any ideas, suggestions???

Has nobody else had this fault??

If so, what was the cause/cure?

Just had a call & it's the Safety Gateway Module (SGM) that's failed. According to them, it's un-related to the work they've done including the CIP upgrade, it's just failing & needs replacing.

Part has been ordered & should arrive tomorrow (Tuesday) & they expect to have the work complete the same day, so i'm hoping i can finally have my car back tomorrow, assuming nothing else goes wrong.

Guess what? I am getting the same warning now I can't believe no one else has experienced that.
The warning came on when my friend put the seat belt on last night...I have been messing with the seat belt since hoping to see the warning go away no luck. I suppose I'll contact the dealership tomorrow to order a replacement part.

On my first E60 that warning came after only 256 miles (about two weeks or so)then they fixed and it came back around 512miles. Finally they fixed well the second time I took it to the dealer.
