Someone please explain to me the purpose of the "REST " button on the dash next to the heater fan speed control, what it does, and HOW DOES IT WORK ?

Thank you

Rest button is for Residual Heat Mode. The car uses the engine heat to keep the car warm while parked. You can research this further on the forum using "search" Good Luck

its in manual.. basically if shutoff car, you can press REST and it will pull the hot air from engine.. only lasts few mins.

So dont really see much use for it.

I really like the REST function -- when I remember to set it, that is!

If you have an LCI car and are looking for the button, you won't find it. Instead of a dedicated REST button, you simply spin up the fan control knob after stopping the engine...

Rudy - that must be where the fan indicators turn orange...I was cleaning the interior yesterday and bumped the fan knob and warm air started coming out the vents...wondered what was going on

Yup, I think you found the REST feature. (I think the fan indicators are always orange, however -- you just don't see any indicators if you use the automatic mode...)

More than a minute or two, like 10 minutes or so (depending on various factors like outside temp, car's temp, battery charge, etc.) If you're just getting out of the car for a short time and coming right back, it's a great feature...

I've always said they should have a little "space heater" in the car so if it's cold it'll still put out warm air as soon as you turn on the car. Never seen it implemented though
