advise you that there is more data in the list.
Bad or good HMI, is up to the individual I guess.
Maybe there is a new multimedia feature and your Idrive controller has vibration feedback as the PlayStation controller
It is now more action to scroll your menus, maybe some games will be out soon

This is definitely not normal, but very annoying.
Its hard to choose anything, because you fught the controller so much and then it overshoots.
This needs to be fixed.

Just Curious if anyone else has noticed it? ?

What is strange is that this kind of behaviour is not predictable.
On certain long list (phone book for instance) no force feedback till you change letter: very understandable.
On other list, such as TMC (real time info on trafic jam) suddenly list seems to be terminated but if you force idrive you get more info.

I notice mine doing it while in Nav, ie when the State List comes up and you scroll through them the controller has that stiff feeling with a vibration. Why it does it I don't know. I wonder what BMW was trying accomplish or prevent! It does appear to be normal though. Just my .02.

Dunno what you guys are talking about... resistance spinning the iDrive controller? I don't see this at all, even when scrolling past the bottom of a menu.
Nope, must be. Seems a bizarre thing to tie to Nav, though. But if it doesn't work, then cool!

Ya its only for NAV equipped cars. suprised people are only talking about it now... I thought it was standard from the get go for Nav Cars... I knew about this a LONG time ago and was complaining I didnt know so many "extras" come wiht NAV and not just NAV itself.
