"Reprogramming" needed to install audio jack?
I have a 2008 535XiT with premium package and Logic 7. Although "AUX" is an option on the stero, I did not order the audio jack and want to have it installed. I do NOT need it to support an iPhone cable - only audio.
One dealer wants to charge me labor for the install (which I am OK with), plus another hour of labor for "reprogramming" the car to accept the jack. Another dealer (farther away) said since I have an AUX option and only wanted audio out, there was no reprogramming. I want to avoid ANY reprogramming if possible...
Thoughts?

My Ride: 2008 550I LOADED, all options except HUD and NV
Again, if your car is a 2008 with Logic 7 I bet good money you already have an AUX input. My car is a 2008 550, with L7 and there is an input in the center console towards the front of the car that has both an AUX 3.5mm "headphone" jack and a USB input. Your dealer is a terrible dealer, the USB/AUX was standard in LCI cars

You already have Aux since it's an option on the stereo so definitely no programming required. Do you have the hardware? I believe so, just look toward the center console and you should see the aux jack and usb. I believe all the 08 came with that option. Get the cable and plug in, select aux on idrive and that should be it.
