Does anyone have the TIS explanation on how removing and mounting the gear knob on the manual gear box?

I'd be very pleased if anyone could provide me with a feasible practice for this replacement

The procedure is to pull with all your might on the shift knob until it comes loose and hits you in the head. Then, push the new knob onto the shift lever. It's keyed so that you can only attach it in the right way.

Hehe.. I've come across several warnings against smashing the knob into one's head.. especially on some American boards..

Belk: You're certain about the procedure? All I do is pull, and position my head perpendicularly onto the knob? Hopefully I won't pull the entire gearbox loose from the drive train

Yup, that's the procedure. Make sure you line up the notch in the knob with the one in the shaft - it's a a bit of an angle.
