Default replacing 545i vacuum pump but need advice

Hey Guys

I have been looking up vacuum pump for my car on eBay. Would you trust a remanufactured part? Or should I buy a new one. The price difference being 100 and 325 but the remanufactured one comes with one year warranty

Is it better to go ahead and purchase a remanufactured part or just pay more for a new part

Your water pump is the heart and soul of your car (sorry if that does not sound poetic enough to you) . It should last a long time after you replaced it. Eat McDonald's for one weekend if you have to and get yourself a BMW OEM one.

I think this website has the most competitive pricings: https://www.bmwmercedesparts.com/mem...iteid%3D215771

Good luck on whatever you decided.

Neither. Simply remove your pump and replace the two seals. The pump to engine seal is available from BMW. But, the pump cover seal (the one that usually leaks and causes people to replace pump) is available aftermarket. I recall purchasing mine from BMP Design. Cost is about $30 with shipping. I don't think the vacuum pumps ever wear out, they just develop leaks.

If the reason replacing it is leak then just change seals as others mentioned . It is easy. But if you need new one get OEM. That what I always do
