I'd like to remove the "sunglass case" from the center-cubby of our 525xi because neither of our glasses fit in it, and it takes up nearly the entire space anyway. We still want the cubby there, but just want to remove the rotating sunglass case.

Is this possible? If so, any pointers would be GREATLY appreciated...

You will need a hacksaw. That is all.

I believe that is a cell phone compartment. There is a delete DIY for it on the forum.

If it is the same as on my '08 535i...which it very likely is...yes it can be removed with no cutting. I haven't seen the DIY, but if it is not helpful, reply back and I'll give details.

Allen-
I can't seem to find a DIY regarding this on the DIY-forum, so any help you can give is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I only removed the lid on the "holder"...I left the compartment there. If we're talking about the compartment that lift up allowing access to the large space beneath. I did do a search in the DIY Forum and found a lot of information on what I think you want to do. I'm having an issue with the posting part of this forum, but I will try to put a link to one of the threads...try clicking here
