Anybody know the right way to remove the rubber mat from the shelf below the iDrive display?
It's just that I plan to do something that might damage it, and before I start I want to be confident that I can replace it, if necessary. I guess it just prises off, but I'd rather know for sure before I start.
Why would anyone want to do such a thing?
Well, I reckon a great place to install a portable satnav like a TomTom One is the corner of the iDrive recess, with the sucker of its windscreen bracket stuck to the rubber shelf. It looks good there and is out of the way, yet easy for the driver to see but hard to spot from outside. So I want to stick something to the shelf that a rubber sucker will adhere to.
Any thoughts?

I used a Kuda base that is installed just to the side of the center console to hold my Ipod maybe it's something you would like. Very easy to install and very clean looking.

Great idea - thank you.
Nice pics, by the way, very smart!
