The chirp/flash is programmable via the I-drive.
Only in the US software.

You can program the flash, but no chirp - on some European (UK) cars e.g. mine

Be interested to hear of any fixes.
Your car needs a new transmitter. It also will have to have a software update. Both assuming your fix is the same as mine for what sounds like the same problem. It probably was me you are thinking of Ice.

I had the same problem. It turned out to be the transmitter amplifier.

There was somebody else having this problem here on the forum. But I don't remember who it was and what was done to solve the problem.

I can easily lock/unlock mine from 100 metres...
My range is pretty good, but 100 METERS????

I can hardly see my car from 100 meters let alone unlock it.

Wow I didnt know that.

I'm really happy I can mix and match the chirp and flash.

I like it to chirp and flash when I lock but I only like it to flash and no chirp when I unlock. I dont like the beep to get peoples attention when I unlock. the flash is ok... its you can only see it if you're paying attention but you can hear it even if you're not looking.

I am very often at american football practices, since I am the equipment manager for the State of Hessens Elite Youth team "Hessen Pride". When the car is parked somewhere on the end of the field and I am behind the other endzone, that's 120 yards, and it works perfectly.
One field where we practice I have to park more than one field away, the remote works fine even when I am 150 yards away.
But you have to know, this is with no buildings or other big distractions in between.

I would not want mine to open from 100 meters, it is too easy to put your hand in your pocket and accidentally hit the 'unlock' button.

Mine works within about 15 meters, that is fine by me, then I can't accidentally unlock it when walking away.

I just had the same problem last week. After 2 trips to the dealer and telling them from the beginning it was probably the transmitter amplifier (I even printed out this thread for them), they finally figured it out. They had the car for a total of 5 days. They finally sheepishly told me they replaced the transmitter amplifier. This seems to be a really common problem. However, the PUMA techs didn't clue in and the local service guys had to troubleshoot it themselves.

Mine has also quite long range and I have got back to the car several times just to find it's not locked!
