I've got a 530 with the sports package. It's definately worth the money. I debated on giving up the sports package for the premium sound, but am glad I went with the sports package!
I should have upgraded to the comfy seats (based on the pictures posted, they look pretty cool).

I've wondered about that, too. I went with the sport seats and really feel quite comfortable with them. A long trip - coming up in June - will be the true test. On rare occasions I would have a back problem on a 12 hour drive in the E39 which had excellent seats.
At first, my wife had a problem sliding out of the sport seats. Getting out of the passenger side is an uphill go if you look at it. She mentioned it a couple of times and hasn't said anything since. I guess she adjusted. Maybe she was trying to slide out instead of turning and stepping out.

No regrets here. The sport package is a must on this car! If only for ARS, the car is on rails. I find myself taking turns at 35-45 mph which I would previously take around 20 mph ... it gets scarey sometimes but I love it! If dollars are an issue drop some other options but make sure to get the sports pack!

In Canada , you can get the sport package without getting the active steering...that s what I did..too bad you don t have the option in the US. The M5 will not have active steeing available by the way. It has been determined unsafe at high speed.
I was happy with the road feel with my previous E39 and with the road test in a E60...To me the active steering took to much fun out of my driving experience...
Again It s a matter of personnal taste and to some ...Active steering is the best thing since slice bread..I respect their opinion.
What ever works for you

Whatever the source, I would have to question the logic unless a recall is in the works. As it is now, AS is one of the better features of the E60 over the E39, IMO.
