Got my recall notice a few days ago as well. I called in to schedule the work and they put me on a list. Seems BMW of Sterling in Virginia does not yet have the parts in stock.

Did anyone have a picture of the cable , and were it is located in our cars?
I want to make a mark to it so i can see for sure that they will replaced

My Ride: 2008 BMW 550i, Dinan intake, Dinan exhaust, RPI ram air scoop, smoke vinyled taillights and eyebrow on headlights, smoked LED side markers, 17 piece LED interior lights, color matched fog lights to HID's, 20w LED angel eyes, Sprintbooster V2, Gunmet
Went to the dealer a couple of days ago for some warranty work. Talked to the service rep about this recall. He said I'll be getting a letter as soon as they get their back ordered parts in from Germany. I'm in Orange County CA. Anyone from this area not get a letter yet? He didn't know how long it'll be. Just said soon.

I too am in Orange County, CA. Haven't received a letter yet. Even though I bought my car as a CPO, BMW North American at least has my name in the database. The woman I spoke to said I should park my car OUTSIDE until the cable is replaced!! How bad is this?
Has anyone heard of any problems with the cable starting any cars on fire???
