I would get rear entertainment if it were available. Will the F10 2010 5 series offer it? Does "individual" offer it? (can we get individual 5 series in US?)

Is there a BMW retrofit kit for E60s?

Rear seat entertainment is available as an Individual Program option in most markets. However, if you are in the U.S., it is my understanding that the Individual Program is no longer available, but some of the 'options' in the program are. Your best bet would be to contact a well informed dealer or BMW NA and ask if the rear seat entertainment package is available for your car in your market. The option does it exist. I have an Individual Program brochure that lists the system.

I can confirm that BMW NA does not offer a retrofit for the rear entertainment system in MY 2005 vehicles [don't know about later ones]. There's quite a few nice posts about using portable DVD players and mounting them in the center handrest with wiring into the AUX adaptor allowing for volume to be channeled into the vehicle. I actually thought about doing this but backed off when I realized there's hardly anyone in the rear that would use it often enough....

Search around - there's tons of stuff on this in the forums... G'luck...
