Its plastic, but why would you care? Its not like its vital for its functionality to be wood. It looks like wood, and this is what its there for - to look "like" wood. And as for the price - would you thik its is justified if it was wood rather than plastic? I really don't care....

Some parts are definately wood, which is what they claim. Some of the highly formed pieces could be plastic however.

I believe EBMCS03 is correct in saying that there is a very thin sliver of wood. This of course is coated in a "plastic" substance only to protect it from scratches. and the backing may be metallic, but I have only seen the very back with hardened plastic.
But, I haven't taken it apart.
