I've only had my 2005 545i for 9 days but I haven't noticed any squeaks or rattles, and I'm one that would notice.
I have a rattle which seems to come from the rear parceI shelf, but I only hear it if I go over bad bumps on the road.
I am still trying to isolate the problem~but at least I can say this is the only one!
I Love this Car!!
Hi There
Had the same proble, it's caused by a loose speaker bracket assembly on the rear deck. Was identified and fixed at the dealer. Give it a try, hope it helps.

According to my BMW Center Service Rep, creaks and rattles on the 05 have become a big issue.? The problems are with the 05 model, not the 04.? Apparently BMW made changes that did not work out on the 05 model or part of the production run.? Is this creak and rattle problem common on the 05s?

My new car has less than 100 km on it and no creaks. The doors closes also with a more classy sound.
Our local BMW dealer says that you should not use any silicone etc. to get rid of the problem. Only careful cleaning with wather should do the trick.
I'm not sure that this is the fact?

My Ride: Arrived 3 June 2005: 2005 545i - Orient Blue, Black interior, Sport, Steptronic, Cold Weather, NAV, Sirius, Logic7, Comfort Seats, Sunshades. What a glorious ride!
With nearly 3000 miles on my e60 I have no creaks or rattles whatsoever. Car is silent as the grave, except for the A/C fan which is noisy as all get-out. That could be a function of our recent 90 degree weather at 90 percent RH, though.
I had an interior creak when I first purchased the car in May. It sounded like it was comming from the dash, steering wheel, or driver seat but couldn't locate it. Everyone on this board said it was the door seals but the sound just didn't seem to come from the door. I made an appointment to take it in to the dealer to check it out. Just by chance I was washing the car and when I leaned over the front hood I heard the same sound but only louder. As I pushed down on the hood the hinges creaked. I test drove the car slowly up my street and over bumps with the hood unlatched and no noise. I then applied some WD40 to the hinges and have not had the noise since. However after a few weeks of rain and a couple of washes I need to apply the lubricant again. I am now trying to decide if I should take it in for a permanent fix or stick with the lube every few weeks. Other than this the car has been problem free. My only complaint is the lack of power in low gears with the 2.5 engine and I think the interior materials are sort of cheap for a car of this price. I hope this helps.

My new door seals are in. August 5 is the date to get them installed.
