+1. The tires are General Exclaim UHPs. Exclaims have relatively soft sidewalls so the impact must have been very severe.

I am a big fan of run-flat tyres, I'll put up with the hard ride to get that extra safety.

And I speak from experience having rolled a car thanks to an explosive blow-out on non-run-flat rubber.

Looks like run-flats saved you.

I also always carry a spare, despite run-flats. E60/61 does not come with a spare as standard in Europe.
