I don't know about rain but dew comes off in about 6 minutes with the rear window defroster. For your situation, get Rain-X its amazing. The water will just pearl off, I put it on my windshield and found it hard to pay attention to the road because it looked so cool how the water just flys away.

1. Keep it clean -- major help so that the rain can more easly run off and not cling to grime film.
2. I agree that the rear defroster helps, especially with light or drizzly rain.
3. Def RainX your front, sides, and back. Fantastic product and easy to use!

Get that sucker up to 50 mph or so, in reverse, it should clean the read window.
Seriosly I am a long time fan of Rain-X. Does an excellent job. Wipers are not necessay over 40 mph.
But, someone, here on the forum, suggested a long term build up, from Rain-X, that may lead to wiper blade chatter. I do believe I have seen that. It is a minor concern compared with the benefit, IMO.
