Could the problem be the battery in the key itself???? If that battery is not holding a charge the car could be recognizing it as a new key.... just a thought.

Car washing and waxing today.... no key in my pocket while doing it because the comfort access kept activating, very annoying indeed. Then I wanted to move the car to take some pics -- grabbed the spare key from the utility room, and voila! Same deal, no presets. I spent 15 minutes getting them all reset for FM, AM and SAT... came inside annoyed at this, then got to thinking -- that's why! I came on here to explain the mystery, only to find 15 of you beat me to it!

Quite possible, but I would imagine that if the key battery is the problem, then it would happen all the time, and other settings like seat, steering wheel, mirrors would be afftected too. What do you think??

I would imagine that if it was a bad battery in your key - that all the presets would be effected.... seats, wheel, mirrors. I would also imagine that before the battery goes completely - it may not hold the charge as long (recall that placing it in the ingition recharges the battery) - so sometimes it may work fine and hold the charge - and other times it won't (depending on how long it was in the ignition charging and how long it was out of the ignition draining). And let's not even get into if something in your pocket was depressing one of the buttons............
