The Radio Data System / RDS is turned on when I'm listening to the FM radio. I get the station call letters and then the song/artist that scrolls through the i-drive on most stations. On 99.7FM, the RDS is extremely slow. It will basically sit at the call letters, and won't display the song/artist. My 330ci has RDS and I don't have this problem. Can people in the Bay Area tune to 99.7 FM and let me know what you get on your RDS? I'd like to see the song and artist, and not just MOVIN... If my RDS is really lame, do you think the dealer can fix it?

Thanks....

I'm interested in the outcome of your query. My 2007 E60 has NAV, etc., and the most I see in the RDS window for any station around Boston is either call-letters or frequency. I have never seen song title/artist information. I know the RDS is the means of data entry into the RTTI system, and that seems to work just fine. I wonder if all the information might somehow be dependent on what the individual station chooses to send out?

I've seen much better work done with RDS in simple headunits in cheap/very basic cars. BIG area of improvement here for the software developers from BMW.

The other stations that I listen to show the call-letters and the artist/song. It's this one station that is SLOW...

Bay Area people, help me out here.

Thanks,
Chris
