My wife is allways starting the engine and starts driving, what drives me mad. Pilots don't start the engine and take off, they go through checklists, so you can take your time and let the system boot. Meanwhile you can plug the phone in, put sunglasses on, buckle up, etc... I never drive off before the system is ready.

I had the same thing happen to me once. I was showing the car to someone and it wasn't working. It was embarassing.

I now have software version 12.12 and I have not seen this since. It used to happen weekly, but not since.

The problem I have sometimes is that if I move to some tracks too fast on a CD, it will not play any tracks and has no sound. The only thing that works is for me to eject the CD and reinsert it which fixes that problem.

I had a somewhat different problem happen last week. I shut off the ignition while at the post office. When I returned and started the car, all of my settings in iDrive, including the presets for Sirius Satellite Radio, had disappeared. The next time I started the car, all of my normal settings returned. It hasn't happened since.
