I am considering purchasing a 550i and want to know where to mount my radar detector? Does the U.S. version of the 550i come with climate comfort windows that inhibit detection of radar signal?

Welcome to the forum.

I installed (hardwired) the main unit to the right of the rear view mirror, and the concealed display in front of the MPG gauge--pix below. Here's a thread with my install pix, and another with hardwire instructions. My 545i doesn't have that coating on the windshield so I don't imagine the 550i will either, though not sure.
